SaaS UK Accounting Market: Opportunities and Challenges

Dennis Howlett, a noted enterprise software blogger for ZDNet and a founding member of the influential online community Enterprise Irregulars, created the presentation below. Dennis is well- known for his expertise in accounting, IT, finance, and taxation among many other areas as well. He is a former technology and tax partner in a British firm of Chartered Accountants, serving in that role for 10 years.
His presentation below is insightful and interesting, and communicates a vantage point of the SaaS UK accounting market only a seasoned veteran could convey. What I found most interesting in this presentation is how large the vendor overhang (70 vendors) is in the UK accounting market. The presentation speaks to vendors and potential users of SaaS systems about how to navigate to value and get away from price alone. It’s an interesting read and makes use of some great graphics from Hugh MacLeod who produces The Gaping Void.
