The Best Tech Companies For Remote Jobs In 2021 According To Glassdoor

  • Glassdoor shows 3,937 companies in the middle of a hiring surge during Covid-19, 960 of which are in information technology.
  • Leading software companies going through a hiring surge right now include Aha! Software, Appen, Clevertech, CrowdStrike, Datadog, Dataiku, Fastly, Hashicorp, Leidos, Liveops, Netskope, Proofpoint, Rackspace, Zapier and Zendesk.   
  • Modern Tribe, Dataiku, Zapier, PartnerCentric, Slack, Fuse, ScienceLogic and SAP are the highest rated companies by their employees on Glassdoor who offer remote jobs today.
  • Between Glassdoor, Indeed, LinkedIn and Monster, there are over 16,500 open remote-based software technical professional jobs available today. Companies with open, remote-based solutions include Aha!, Box, Cloudera, DemandBase, Jobot,  Red Hat, NTT Data, Salesforce and many others.

These and many other useful insights are based on comparing the leading tech companies who offer remote, work-from-home job positions by their Glassdoor scores. Leading tech companies are ranked on the percentage of employees who would recommend their company to a friend and the percent of employees who approve of the CEO. PowerToFly has had an impressive growth year and is the go-to remote job search engine for women professionals. The company was launched in 2014 by Milena Berry and Katharine Zaleski to connect Fortune 500 companies, startups and growing companies with women looking to work for businesses that value gender diversity and inclusion. PowerToFly’s number of available remote jobs has soared from 994 earlier this year to over 2,500 open remote positions today. 94% of employees would recommend working at PowerToFly to a friend and 93% approve of their CEOs.

  • Angelist has 2,700 enterprise software-related remote positions on their website today with companies including Auth0, Arctic Wolf Networks, Confluent, Couchbase, HackerOne, Slack, MindTickle, MongoDB, Sendoso, Tanium and many others.  
  • FlexJobs has 5,566 remote-based software jobs that include full-time, part-time and freelance positions. Open positions include Senior Software Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Product Managers, Project Managers, Full Stack Developers and more. 
  • Remotive provides a curated list of 192 startups, many of which have open remote-based positions on December 1, 2020.
  • StackOverflow has 815 open remote-based job positions available today, including Canonical (39 open jobs), Octane AI, Shield AI and many others.
  • Torch Capital’s Talent Connect Portal has 980 positions open today, including several from DoubleVerify, Electric, Lexis Nexis, Nexon America, Shopify, Tesla and others.  
  • Working Nomads site currently has 11,216 remote, work-from-home development jobs advertised. There are also 2,021 marketing, 1,922 management, 1,873 system administration, 1,592 design and 1,164 sales remote, work-from-home job postings.

  • Duolingo, HOVER, Ironclad, Orbital Insight, People.ai, Dataiku, DeepMap, Cobalt, Aktana, Chorus.ai, Noodle Analytics, Inc. (Noodle.ai), Signal AI, Augury, SparkCognition, and KONUX are the most likely to be recommended by their employees to friends looking for a machine learning startup to work for in 2020.
  • 96% of the employees of the 15 highest rated machine learning startups would recommend their company to a friend looking for a new job, and 98% approve of their CEOs.
  • Across all machine learning startups with Glassdoor ratings, 74% of employees would recommend the startup they work for to a friend, and 81% approve of their CEO.
  • There are over 230 cities globally who have one or more machine learning startups in operation today with Crunchbase finding 144 in San Francisco, 60 in London, 69 in New York, 82 in Tel Aviv, 22 in Toronto, 20 in Paris, 18 in Seattle and the remainder distributed over 223 global locations.

These and many other insights are from a Crunchbase Pro analysis completed today using Glassdoor data to rank the best machine learning startups to work for in 2020. Demand reminds high for technical professionals with machine learning expertise.  According to Indeed, Machine Learning Engineer job openings grew 344% between 2015 to 2018 and have an average base salary of $146,085 according to their  Best Jobs In The U.S. Study. You can read the study shows that technical professionals with machine learning expertise are in an excellent position to bargain for the average base salary of at least $146,085 or more.

Methodology

In response to readers’ most common requests of which machine learning startups are the best to work for, a Crunchbase Pro query was created to find all machine learning startups who had received Seed, Early Stage Venture, or Late Stage Venture financing. The 2,682 machine learning startups Crunchbase is tracking were indexed by Total Funding Amount by startup to create a baseline.

Next, Glassdoor scores of the (%) of employees who would recommend this company to a friend and (%) of employees who approve of the CEO were used to find the best startups to work for. 79 of the 150 machine learning startups have 15 or more Glassdoor reviews and are included in the analysis. 41 have less than 15 reviews and 30 have no reviews. The Best Big Data Companies And CEOs To Work For In 2018

Forbes readers’ most common requests center on who the best companies are to work for in analytics, big data, data management, data science and machine learning. The latest Computer Reseller News‘ 2018 Big Data 100 list of companies is used to complete the analysis as it is an impartial, independent list aggregated based on CRN’s analysis and perspectives of the market. Using the CRN list as a foundation, the following analysis captures the best companies in their respective areas today.

Using the 2018 Big Data 100 CRN list as a baseline to compare the Glassdoor scores of the (%) of employees who would recommend this company to a friend and (%) of employees who approve of the CEO, the following analysis was completed today. 25 companies on the list have very few (less than 15) or no Glassdoor reviews, so they are excluded from the rankings. Based on analysis of Glassdoor score patterns over the last four years, the lower the number of rankings, the more 100% scores for referrals and CEOs.
